Our joint venture company G2 Ocean operates the world’s largest fleet of open hatch gantry crane and jib crane vessels. These are specially designed to transport unitised cargoes such as forest products, non-ferrous metals and steel. G2 Ocean also transports conventional bulk and project cargoes.

We operate a number of highly specialist vessels for the ocean transportation of cargoes such as liquid pitch, caustic soda, as well as a floating terminal.

When Gearbulk started out in 1968, open hatch gantry crane vessel technology was only five years old. This technology offered great promise for operators with the foresight to recognise the benefits of these innovative self-loading and discharge ships in underdeveloped regions.
